Academic Library DivisionThe Academic Library Division champions professional growth and development for Georgia College and University librarians. Established in 1984 as the official Georgia Chapter of the American Library Association’s Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), the division offers a range of programs and resources. |
Advocacy DivisionThe Advocacy Division promotes the development and improvement of libraries for the benefit of the people of Georgia. It acts as the primary liaison between the association and national legislative bodies, advocating for library-positive policies, decisions, and funding, and promoting awareness of the positive role that libraries play in our communities. |
Library Staff DivisionThe Library Staff Division represents support staff who work in Georgia's libraries in all library types. The division works to encourage coordination and professional development among library staff members. |
New Members Round Table
The New Members Round Table provides new members of the profession with a meeting place and way to connect with GLA and the profession. The division facilitates professional growth and is a voice for new library workers in GLA. |
Public Library DivisionThe Public Library Division (PLD) provides for the exchange of ideas and experiences, to stimulate continued professional growth, to improve and extend public library services, to raise library standards, to secure support for libraries and to cooperate in the promotion of library services generally. |
School Library Media DivisionThe School Library Media Division seeks to bring together information professionals from all patron and student age groups to improve information literacy in Georgia. |
Special Libraries and Information Services DivisionThe Special Libraries Division of the Georgia Library Association was established to advance the interests of special libraries through professional contacts and to promote the improvement of existing special collections in the state. |
