The Georgia Library Association Carterette Series Webinars presents

Counteracting Health Misinformation and Supporting Climate Resilience: The Work of a Public and Academic Partnership in San Diego County, CA

Wednesday, September 25, 2024
2pm Eastern (11am Pacific | 12pm Mountain | 1pm Central)
Cost: Free

Description: On August 31, 2021, the San Diego County, California Board of Supervisors declared health misinformation a public health crisis. Immediately, the San Diego Circuit Libraries, a consortium of 6 public and academic libraries in San Diego County, collaborated to develop programming in support of the county’s campaign. Join us to hear about this partnership’s outreach which, to date, includes co-hosting community author talks, developing a comprehensive Health Information Guide; building a resource guide focused on advancing climate resilience, sustainability, and environmental justice; and facilitating enrollment opportunities into the University of California, San Diego’s All of Us [Health] Research Program. In addition, the presenters will share how they utilize a logic model to make data driven decisions and demonstrate the impact of their programs with free survey software.
